About Me

My photo
Señorita Burns
This is my eighth year teaching kindergarten, fourteenth year teaching in the United States, and sixteenth year of teaching overall. This year, my first class of first graders is already in college! I've enjoyed teaching children in kindergarten, first, second, and third grades (and spent time as a long-term sub with fifth grade.) I also coached middle school and high school track and cross country way back when I began my career in Wisconsin. I've enjoyed working with children of all ages, but I greatly enjoy my work now teaching kindergarten in a Spanish immersion school. The children are fearless as they embark on the adventure that is immersion education. They take huge risks, make mistakes, help one another, and never fail to impress me. As impressive as the children are, it is their cheerfulness, innocence, and comments that make me laugh and feel so incredibly grateful to have such a wonderful job.
